Special Area Of Interest and Future Plans
:
Dr.Pawar has strong Social commitments and spends a major part of
his time , energy and funds in helping out the poor and needy
cancer patients that he sees at his hospital as well as at the CPR
Government Hospital. He takes special effort to reach out to the
children in Schools & Colleges and people in small villages and
towns to create awareness regarding the hazards of tobacco abuse.
He makes audio-visual presentations to drive home his point. It
is his dream to drastically reduce the incidence of tobacco
related cancers (over 50% of total Cancers at present) through
public awareness, especially targeting the School Children and
College students/ teenagers.
After working and
actively managing cases in all the sub-specialities of Surgical
Oncology, Dr. Suraj Pawar has developed special interest in
Thoracic Surgery , Minimally Invasive Surgery (Key hole Surgery)
for Cancer and all Supra-major Surgeries.
His main interest is to
keep update with the latest in the field of Cancer Surgery by
interacting with the best centres in the world and share knowledge
and experience.
He is keenly interested
in bringing back the knowledge for the benefit of patients in and
around Kolhapur which is an upcoming city in Western
Maharashtra,.
Once financial Aid is
available, Dr.Pawar plans to start a State-of-art Radiation
Therapy Centre followed by a comprehensive Cancer Hospital
that will add completeness to Kolhapur Cancer Centre as a Tertiary
Referral Centre under one roof, that will be dedicated to offer
cancer care to the affected patients in Western Maharashtra, Goa,
North Karnataka and rest of India. |
